Another great evening at Angelita to start the week in style. Pictured:
Vino di Anna Bianco 2020, natural wine from Etna, Sicily, mostly Grecanico grape, great color and structure from maceration on the skins.
Jable de Tao Chupadero 2020, single-variety, White Listan, from Lanzarote Island. The weirdest wine I’ve ever tried: lots of sulfur and iron from its volcanic soil.
Domaine du Clair Obscur 21 Centimètres 2021, natural, single-variety, a pure raspberry Gamay from Corpeau, Côte de Beaune, Bourgogne.
Bodega Cerrón La servil 2022, 100% Mourvèdre / Monastrell from Jumilla DO, Murcia, biodynamic, very elegant.
Domenico Clerico Visadi 2022, 100% Dolcetto from the Langhe DOC, Piemonte, grown out of the denomination, this is a Langhe Dolcetto and not a Dolcetto d’Alba.
Pedro Parra’s Newk 2021 from Itata, Chile, single-variety Cinsault, fresh raspberries, plum and red cherries.
Zeroine 2021, a Riesling Alsace-Style, natural, but made in Jura by Maylis Bernard, Jean-François Ganevat and Anne Ganevat. Crazy winemaking here, aromatic, delicious.
